CARMEN MARISCAL

Carmen Mariscal is an economist with postgraduate studies in Public Policy and Economics (ITAM, Mexico City, 1993). She began her academic career at institutions such as Universidad Panamericana, ITAM, and CIDE (1991–2004), specializing in complex systems, strategic thinking, industrial organization, public policy, network economics, and organizational theory.

From early in her career, her work has been characterized by the integration of analytical rigor with a systemic understanding of organizational and social phenomena. In 1998, she was part of the founding group of Tooriginal Solutions, a pioneering firm in the design of complex-systems-based solutions and in the deliberate generation of Positive Network Externalities (PNE). The company’s impact was recognized with the National Technology Award (Mexico) in 2017.

In 2010, she founded Arkesoul, a company dedicated to enabling deep transformation processes in organizations and collectives seeking organic, sustainable, and efficiency-centered evolution. Fernando Villalovs later joined as a partner, contributing to the strategic development and conceptual expansion of the model.

At Arkesoul, Carmen is the creator of the Arkesoul Efficiency Model© and the Epistemology of Integration©, conceptual frameworks that articulate strategy, structure, culture, and decision-making through a systemic understanding of human and organizational dynamics.

Throughout Arkesoul’s trajectory, her work has spanned diverse contexts: from public policy and foundations to the definition of initial conditions for entrepreneurship and startup projects; from large corporations to family-owned businesses; from consolidated expert teams seeking to unlock innovation within their own know-how to individuals in their first professional roles. These experiences have shaped a deep vision of the organization as a living system, oriented toward value creation, real efficiency, and community building.

The consistent axis of her work is a clear conviction: organizational evolution does not occur through imposition, but through structural clarity, epistemological integration, and shared meaning. From this standpoint, Carmen Mariscal has devoted her career to designing spaces where people, systems, and purpose align to generate sustainable impact.

FERNANDO J. VILLALOVS

I am a senior consultant specializing in organizational design, human systems, and analytical governance, supporting companies through complex processes of structural transformation.

As a long-term associate of Arkesoul, I am a co-creator of the Human Resources Efficiency Model©, a framework designed to align human capital strategy, performance management, and organizational governance with business objectives. My work focuses on translating abstract strategy into clear operating models, defined roles, decision rights, and measurable outcomes.

In recent projects—including my current advisory role with Market IN (BTL marketing)—I operate in a Head-level consulting capacity across Analytics–PM, Operations, and Human Resources. Rather than executing day-to-day operations, I design and validate systems that enable scalability: operating models (OFM), KPI/OKR architectures, governance and escalation structures, and capacity planning aligned with demand.

My approach positions:

HR as organizational infrastructure, not administrative support

Analytics as a governance and decision system, not reporting

Operations as a designed flow, not reactive execution

I hold an academic background in Philosophy and Psychology (Fordham University), along with prior experience as a research assistant at Universidad Iberoamericana and as an instructor in Philosophy and English. This foundation informs my emphasis on critical thinking, ethics, learning, and systemic coherence in organizational change processes.

Across all projects, my guiding principle is consistent: most organizational problems are not people problems—they are design problems.
